Find a Community Band

A mutual interest in the Art of Music, in its performance, and in the aesthetic qualities it can project to others…

Part of the mission of the TBS Alumni Association is to continue supporting greater bands. Staying in touch with concert bands, either as a musician or as a patron, helps us continue to follow the essential factors and qualities that connect us as Sisters and Brothers in the Bond.

For decades, community bands have been vital organizations which bring together musician within the local area to provide public performance for their communities, continuing the love of music across the country. There are two national organizations which connect community bands across the country and around the world, helping them network and promote their work, the Association of Concert Bands, and the Lesbian and Gay Band Association.

Find a Community Band

The Association of Concert Bands [www.acbands.org] is the nation’s largest network of community bands. Its mission is to foster excellence in Concert Band music through performance, education, and advocacy. ACB members include bands, individuals, and corporations who are uniquely dedicated and equipped to serve the needs of adult instrumental musicians that perform in and/or lead adult concert bands. ACB has formed Blanket Performance Licensing Agreements with both BMI and ACSAP for performance rights for its members bands.

Find a Member Band

Founded in 1982, the Pride Bands Alliance (formerly Lesbian & Gay Band Association) [www.lgba.org] is made up of over 35 community bands across the United State, the UK, and Australia. LGBT-oriented concert bands have existed since the 1970s as a social outlet and safe space for musicians of all orientations and identities to come together and perform music for their communities.

Pride Bands Alliance remains dedicated to its original goals of providing a network of LQBTQ+Allies bands at all stages of development, promoting music as a medium of communication among people, improving the quality of artistic and organizational aspects of member bands, and stimulating public interest in the unique art form of community band music in our culture.
